Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Skrum. Please read them carefully before creating an account.

Last updated: July 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise accessing the Skrum web application or API (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation and these Terms apply to that organisation.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it current.

3. Accounts, authentication, and security

Accounts are managed through Better Auth. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials, for enabling two-factor authentication where available, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

  • Sessions are cookie-based (httpOnly, SameSite=Lax).
  • Passwords are hashed with scrypt; Skrum never stores plaintext passwords.
  • Provider credentials, including AI and integration keys, are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.
  • Cross-account requests return 404 — never 403 — so resource existence never leaks.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Attempt to access another account’s data, reverse-engineer the Service, or circumvent rate limits or usage caps.
  • Abuse the free tier, webhooks, public API, or any rate-limited route to degrade the Service for others.
  • Upload, share, or process content that you do not have the right to use.
  • Introduce malware, scrapers, or automated load that harms the Service or its providers.

Violations may result in suspension, usage throttling, or account termination without refund.

5. Plans, billing, and credits

The Service offers four subscription tiers and optional add-on credit packs. Current pricing is published on the Pricing page.

  • Payments are processed by Polar (polar.sh). Skrum does not store your full card number.
  • Monthly plans are billed in advance; yearly plans receive a 20% discount and are billed annually.
  • Plan caps cover projects, storage, guest seats, AI actions, transcription, and meeting recording. A request is stopped before paid provider work when its allowance is exhausted.
  • AI-action and transcription credit packs are one-time purchases that expand the applicable monthly allowance.
  • Subscriptions may be paused for up to 90 days through the billing portal.

All amounts are charged in the currency displayed at checkout. Taxes, where applicable, are added by Polar at the applicable rate for your region.

6. Refunds and cancellations

You can cancel a subscription at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation stops renewal; your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.

Refund requests for unused time on yearly plans may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@skrum.io within 14 days of a charge to request a review. Monthly plans are non-refundable once the billing period has started.

7. Intellectual property

Skrum retains all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation. The Skrum name, logo, and domain (skrum.io) are protected marks.

Your messages, tasks, project records, meeting material, files, reports, and AI-assisted outputs remain yours. You may export supported data as CSV, JSON, or PDF.

Third-party code, content, and provider output remain subject to their original licences and provider terms.

8. Privacy and data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes the data we collect, how it is encrypted, and your rights including GDPR export and deletion.

9. Service availability

The Service is provided on a commercially reasonable basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance windows, vendor outages, or force-majeure events may cause downtime. Critical incidents are communicated through in-app alerts or email where possible.

Skrum is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from service interruption.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the data-rights section of the app. Deletion enters a 30-day grace period (configurable) and a final warning email is sent 24 hours before the purge. After the grace period, your data is permanently removed unless under legal hold.

Skrum may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that remain unpaid, or that pose a security risk. Upon termination, export windows for your data are limited to the active billing period.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. AI suggestions, summaries, estimates, and project-risk signals are informational and require human review.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skrum’s aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid in the preceding 12 months (or, for free-tier users, USD $50).

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the jurisdiction where Skrum operates. Any dispute will first be attempted through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration or the competent courts, depending on your jurisdiction.

You may bring claims only in your individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email (to verified accounts) or in-app at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
